Indian Lawmakers Brief Bahrain Leaders on Pahalgam Terrorist Attack, India's Counterterrorism Measures
India’s all-party parliamentary delegation continued its strategic global campaign under Operation Sindoor with key diplomatic engagements in Bahrain on Saturday. Led by senior Indian MPs, the delegation called on His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to reaffirm India’s zero-tolerance stance against cross-border terrorism and highlight its response following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.Image Source: MEA/FM on X
During the meeting, the delegation provided a detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor—India’s calibrated, precise, and non-escalatory military response aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Indian MPs underlined the barbarity of the Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians were killed, including women and children, and positioned India's response as a necessary deterrent to ensure national and regional security.
Further engagements included meetings with His Excellency Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, and His Excellency Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed, First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives.
In these dialogues, the Indian delegation reiterated that terrorism cannot be compartmentalized or justified and emphasized the strategic restraint and targeted precision of India’s retaliatory measures.
The Indian delegation also interacted with two of Bahrain’s prominent intellectual institutions—the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance. At both think tanks, Indian representatives presented the core tenets of India's counterterror doctrine, advocating for greater international alignment on non-negotiable condemnation of terrorism and responsible state behavior.
The Bahrain leg of Operation Sindoor coincides with simultaneous Indian diplomatic missions in Kuwait, where an all-party team led by MP Baijayant Jay Panda is holding dialogues with civil society and top officials, and in South Korea, where another delegation is engaging with strategic policy leaders and diaspora representatives. In Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, yet another Indian delegation is carrying the same unified message forward in the African context.
India’s diplomatic efforts under Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April terror attacks, have now spanned more than 30 capitals and reflect a bipartisan consensus at home and a coordinated international strategy abroad.
By combining state-level dialogue with think tank engagement and diaspora briefings, India continues to build a global narrative that positions terrorism as a universal threat—one that requires collective responsibility and unequivocal action.
