South Korea Backs India’s Zero-Tolerance Terror Policy During High-Level Talks in Seoul
India has secured strong backing from South Korea during a high-level parliamentary engagement in Seoul. The Indian all-party delegation, led by MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul to restate bilateral cooperation on counter-terrorism and deliver a unified message: terrorism in any form will not be tolerated.

Minister Cho, during his discussion with the delegation, expressed solidarity with India’s stance, stating that the Republic of Korea (ROK) remains committed to global counter-terror efforts. He also referenced his earlier conversation with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar earlier this month, where shared values on international peace and security were reaffirmed.
According to aofficials from the Indian Embassy in Seoul, the delegation provided the ROK side with a detailed account of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, tracing its origins to Pakistan-backed elements and articulating India’s non-escalatory but firm military and diplomatic response under Operation Sindoor.
Over multiple engagements in Seoul, including with the Korean National Assembly’s Foreign Policy Committee, think tanks, and former foreign ministers, Indian MPs reiterated the new normal in India’s strategic doctrine: retaliation will be swift, targeted, and within the bounds of international law. “Terror and dialogue cannot coexist,” a delegation member was quoted saying.
India’s message was clear — whether in Europe, Latin America, or Asia-Pacific, it seeks a global consensus to dismantle terror infrastructures. As a UN Security Council member and key Indo-Pacific actor, South Korea’s explicit alignment with India on this issue is a major diplomatic gain.
The visit comes on the heels of similar engagements in New York, Bahrain, Panama, and Slovenia, where India’s all-party delegations are rallying international opinion against state-sponsored terrorism.
Ambassador Amit Kumar earlier briefed the delegation on the specifics of the bilateral strategic framework.
