Terrorism Is Not India’s Problem Alone: Indian MPs Tell Korean Media

Continuing India’s sustained global outreach, an all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by MP Sanjay Kumar Jha engaged with leading media houses in South Korea to state India's uncompromising position on terrorism. The delegation described Operation Sindoor as a "measured and targeted" response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians.

The delegation’s visit to Seoul follows a series of high-level engagements across capitals including Qatar, Kuwait, Guyana, and Germany, as part of India’s wider diplomatic campaign against cross-border terrorism. In Seoul, the Indian MPs clarified that their mission was not isolated to bilateral dialogue but aimed at building multilateral consensus against the threat of terrorism.

“Terrorism is a global issue, not one for India to shoulder alone,” the delegation stated during the Q&A with Korean journalists. They added that South Korea, as an important regional and global stakeholder, should join hands with India to build a stronger international front against terrorism.

Earlier, the delegation met with Republic of Korea's Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul, who reaffirmed his government’s condemnation of terrorism and support for India’s stance. The meeting followed an earlier phone call between Minister Cho and Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, wherein both sides agreed on closer cooperation on regional and global security issues.

The delegation, which includes MPs Abhishek Banerjee, Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, John Brittas, Hemang Joshi, former Ambassador Mohan Kumar, and is led by Sanjay Kumar Jha, has also engaged with South Korean civil society, diaspora members, and think tanks in Seoul.

This outreach is a key pillar of India’s evolving foreign policy, which emphasizes parliamentary diplomacy, strategic transparency, and an unambiguous message: terrorism must be countered globally, and its state sponsors held to account.
