The dinner, hosted by Indian Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, brought together influential voices from Japan’s political leadership, government agencies, academia, and strategic community. It served as the diplomatic high point of the parliamentary delegation’s visit, led by MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, focused on reinforcing bilateral ties and promoting strategic cooperation.

Over the course of the evening, Indian lawmakers engaged in wide-ranging discussions with their Japanese counterparts on shared regional concerns, with a strong emphasis on counterterrorism cooperation. The Indian side underscored the urgent need for global solidarity against terrorism, reiterating that cross-border terror cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.

The setting at India House, traditionally used for high-level diplomatic outreach, allowed for candid exchanges on regional security, Indo-Pacific cooperation, and people-to-people ties. The MPs also conveyed India’s appreciation for Japan’s consistent support on matters of national security.

The delegation’s visit reflects India’s broader effort to deepen strategic parliamentary diplomacy with key partners in the Indo-Pacific, as both countries navigate evolving geopolitical challenges.
