South Block on High Alert: Jaishankar Leads Strategic Review Amid India’s Global Anti-Terror Push
India’s fight against terrorism has entered a critical phase. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar chaired a closed-door Consultative Committee meeting at the Ministry of External Affairs today.
Present were senior diplomats and lawmakers, including Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, where strategic briefings underlined India’s counter-terror roadmap and exposed Pakistan’s continued patronage of terror networks.

The tone inside South Block was described by insiders as “resolute and alert,” as Dr. Jaishankar reiterated the urgency of India’s zero-tolerance policy. One slide at the meeting exposed Pakistan’s Terror Industry, the scale of state-backed terrorism as India prepares to escalate diplomatic offensives worldwide.
India’s assertive global campaign — launched following the April 22 Pahalgam massacre — has seen all-party delegations fan out across continents. In New York, MP Shashi Tharoor led tributes at the 9/11 Memorial while confronting global silence on cross-border terrorism. In Kuwait, lawmakers urged Gulf allies to call out Pakistan’s duplicity. In Seoul, India secured support from Korean lawmakers and intelligence officials by exposing the Pahalgam attack's orchestration. Meanwhile in Panama, the Indian team continues engaging Latin America, tying terror to global instability.
India’s moral standing has grown starker against the backdrop of recent Pakistani admissions. Former Pakistani foreign ministers have on record admitted that the United States “used Pakistan” for covert missions — a reminder that Western counter-terror doctrines often stood on the shoulders of unstable alliances.
Despite mounting evidence from India, including photographic proof of Pakistani generals attending militant funerals, key global voices remained selectively muted.
But now, the tide is shifting. As the recent Canada–India thaw showed, Foreign Minister Anita Anand publicly thanked Dr. Jaishankar for “productive dialogue.” Meanwhile, India is expected to be taking its cultural soft power to Brasília for the BRICS Culture Ministers’ Summit, in a bid to restate its civilizational counterpoint to terrorism.
The message out of New Delhi is terrorism is a geopolitical weapon. India's outreach is aimed at dismantling its enablers — one capital at a time.
