Indian MPs in Doha Urge Global Action on Terrorism
India’s coordinated global outreach against terrorism gained further ground today as the multi-party parliamentary delegation visiting Qatar met with Dr. Hamda Al Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Qatar Shura Council, and other Qatari lawmakers. The Indian delegation conveyed national outrage over the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and reiterated India’s zero-tolerance approach to cross-border terrorism under the framework of Operation Sindoor.

The Qatari side expressed solidarity with India and reaffirmed its own zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism, emphasizing the need for a global consensus in condemning terrorist violence in all forms and manifestations.
The meeting in Doha comes on the heels of the delegation’s interaction with the Indian diaspora in South Korea, where MPs led by Sanjay Kumar Jha outlined the measured and targeted nature of India's response to the Pahalgam attack. They stressed that while India seeks peace, “dialogue cannot co-exist with terror.” The delegation also commended the diaspora for embodying India’s democratic and pluralistic values in the face of global threats.
In parallel, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor led another all-party group to New York City, where he delivered a speech reiterating India’s evolving doctrine on terrorism. At strategic dialogues and a visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Tharoor called for an end to impunity.
Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 attack that killed 26 civilians, now spans over 30 countries with parliamentary diplomacy serving as the vehicle for conveying India’s principled stand. In addition to the U.S., South Korea, and Qatar, Indian delegations have visited Japan, Germany, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Guyana.
India’s approach remains consistent: secure regional and global alignment, build international pressure on terror sponsors, and reinforce the nation’s commitment to non-escalatory yet firm and targeted countermeasures. The next stops in the campaign are expected to include Egypt, South Africa, and Latin American partners.
