India Has Called Pakistan’s ‘Nuclear Bluff’ Under Operation Sindoor, Says Baijayant Panda in Bahrain

As part of India’s ongoing Operation Sindoor and diplomatic outreach, BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda told Bahraini interlocutors that India has rejected the use of nuclear threats by Pakistan and has adopted a firm, deterrent-based response doctrine following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

Speaking during an all-party delegation visit to Bahrain, Panda said, “We will no longer be blackmailed by Pakistan’s nuclear bluff. Our response is calculated — not driven by hostility — but by a commitment to deter future provocations with appropriate cost.”

The Indian delegation thanked the Government of Bahrain for its consistent support and its unequivocal condemnation of the Pahalgam attack, in which 26 people were killed. “India deeply values its relationship with Bahrain,” Panda noted, citing longstanding cultural and strategic ties. “We are grateful for the principled stand Bahrain has taken, especially during these challenging times.”

Panda, who is leading the third group of parliamentarians under Operation Sindoor, highlighted that India’s new doctrine is rooted in direct messaging and proportionate response. He stated that India would retaliate strongly to any terrorist incursion while ensuring that the threshold never escalates toward nuclear conflict. “Our doctrine is precise. We want to deter, not escalate,” he said.

The MP also responded to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s public comments claiming credit for the India–Pakistan ceasefire. “There was no third-party involvement. The ceasefire came after direct communication between the military leadership of both countries,” he said, reaffirming India’s long-standing policy of keeping bilateral issues outside international mediation.

“While we welcomed advice and goodwill from global partners, the breakthrough came only after Pakistan reached out through the military hotline requesting cessation of hostilities,” Panda explained. “We were clear — this would be a bilateral resolution. When they stopped, we stopped.”

The multi-party delegation includes Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM), Satnam Singh Sandhu, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla. The group is visiting Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria to convey India’s unified position against terrorism and brief international partners on the country’s response to cross-border threats.

The Bahrain stop follows parallel Operation Sindoor engagements in Japan, Germany, South Korea, Africa, and the United States.
