Continuing its diplomatic mission under Operation Sindoor, India’s all-party parliamentary delegation led by Dr. Shashi Tharoor was met with warmth and enthusiasm by members of the Indo-Guyanese community upon arrival at their hotel in Georgetown on Monday.

The visit coincides with Guyana’s 59th Independence Day, with Indian MPs scheduled to attend the President’s midnight address and participate in national celebrations in Berbice.
The Indo-Guyanese community, many of whom trace their roots back to 19th-century indentured labour migration from India, remains a vibrant pillar of Guyana’s multicultural identity.
