Kuwait Hosts Indian Delegation Amid Intensifying Anti-Terror Outreach

A high-level all-party parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda arrived in Kuwait for a two-day visit aimed at reinforcing India’s unified and resolute stance against terrorism. The visit reflects New Delhi’s growing strategic engagement with the Gulf region and its effort to globalize consensus against cross-border terror networks following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

The delegation comprises prominent members of both Houses of Parliament, including Dr. Nishikant Dubey, Smt. Phangnon Konyak, Smt. Rekha Sharma, Asaduddin Owaisi, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and former Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait stated that the delegation will hold discussions with senior Kuwaiti officials, thought leaders, media representatives, and members of the Indian diaspora. The conversations are expected to focus on expanding bilateral ties, regional stability, and a common front against the use of religion as a cover for terrorism.

The Kuwait leg of Operation Sindoor comes after similar outreach efforts in New York, Qatar, Guyana, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and South Korea, where Indian representatives have consistently delivered a unified message against terrorism and emphasized India’s zero-tolerance doctrine.

With each diplomatic stop, India continues to seek alignment with partner nations on preventing extremism, dismantling terror financing systems, and promoting rule-based global order. The inclusion of MPs across party lines in the delegation underscores domestic political unity behind India’s counterterror strategy.

India’s engagement with Kuwait holds particular resonance, given the longstanding ties between the two nations and the significant presence of the Indian diaspora in the Gulf country.

Officials noted that the delegation’s discussions would also include diaspora welfare, safety protocols, and economic cooperation. With growing strategic relevance in the region and New Delhi’s ambition to play a more assertive role in global security dialogue, the Kuwait visit reinforces India’s position as a responsible actor combating terrorism through diplomacy, engagement, and consensus-building.
