Indian Delegation Pays Tribute to Rash Behari Bose As They Wrap Mission in Tokyo

Wrapping up its diplomatic mission in Japan, the Indian all-party parliamentary delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha paid solemn tributes at Tama Cemetery in Tokyo to freedom fighter Rash Behari Bose on the eve of his birth anniversary.

The tribute marked the final stop of the delegation’s Tokyo itinerary, which began with a visit to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and concluded with a floral homage to one of India’s most prominent figures in the overseas independence movement.

The moment underscored a broader message of unity, and moral clarity in India’s current global posture against terrorism.

Drawing from the legacy of India's freedom fighters, members of the delegation reiterated that the same spirit of defiance and sacrifice guides India’s stand today. The messaging echoes India’s repeated calls for international consensus, as seen during recent diplomatic visits to Germany, Russia, and the UAE.

The delegation’s presence in Tokyo is part of a 33-nation initiative to project India’s firm stance on cross-border terrorism and spotlight Pakistan’s ongoing support for militant groups.

Earlier in the visit, lawmakers including MP Abhishek Banerjee delivered strong remarks at the Indian Embassy, calling on the diaspora to play an active role in combating disinformation and promoting India’s narrative on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack.

Paying homage to Rash Behari Bose in Tokyo held added symbolism. Bose had famously escaped British surveillance in India and played a crucial role in building anti-colonial resistance from Japan—setting the precedent for cross-border solidarity in pursuit of justice.

That spirit, delegates said, lives on in India's approach to modern threats like state-sponsored terrorism and transnational extremism. India’s diplomatic offensive continues to highlight that its actions are principled, proportional, and grounded in international law.
