During the visit, Dr. Jaishankar called on Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, briefing her on recent developments in the India–Denmark Green Strategic Partnership. The leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues, with the Minister conveying India’s appreciation for Denmark’s solidarity and support in counterterrorism efforts.
He also called on the Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Søren Gade, with discussions centred around deepening parliamentary exchanges and people-to-people ties between the two democracies.
In his bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Dr. Jaishankar held a detailed review of India–Denmark relations, focusing on strategic and security cooperation. The ministers also agreed to maintain close contact during Denmark’s 2025–2026 term on the United Nations Security Council, enhancing coordination on multilateral issues. In a social media post, Jaishankar described the conversation as “wide-ranging,” praising Denmark’s strong support in combating terrorism.
Dr. Jaishankar also met with Morten Bødskov, Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, to discuss ways to enhance trade and investment. The discussion welcomed Danish interest in renewable energy, shipping, healthcare, and the green economy. He encouraged greater Danish investment in India, particularly in sectors aligned with India's green transition goals.
In keeping with India’s tradition of community engagement during high-level visits, the Minister also met members of the Indian diaspora in Denmark, acknowledging their contributions to strengthening bilateral ties.
The visit forms part of India’s broader diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor, during which New Delhi has launched a series of high-level engagements with key global partners to reaffirm its position on cross-border terrorism and strategic cooperation. Denmark has emerged as a strong partner in both sustainable development and global security.
