During the talks, Foreign Minister Iwaya expressed Japan’s support for India’s efforts in the fight against terrorism and commended India’s restraint in the face of recent attacks. He also emphasised the need to bring perpetrators of terrorist acts to justice.
The visit is part of a broader Indian campaign involving multi-party delegations travelling to global capitals to brief foreign governments on the context and objectives of its counterterrorism actions. These outreach missions are supported by senior diplomats and backed by parallel engagements like Raisina Tokyo 2025 and trilateral security dialogues.
India’s diplomatic overtures aim to secure global consensus around its counterterrorism rationale, while also drawing attention to Pakistan’s role in sponsoring cross-border extremism.
