Kanimozhi Karunanidhi-led Delegation Shows Global Diplomatic Momentum in Greece
In a continued assertion of its uncompromising stand against terrorism, an All-Party Parliamentary Delegation led by MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi concluded a strategic diplomatic visit to the Hellenic Republic, engaging with top-level officials, legislators, and media leaders in Athens. The visit came as part of India’s broader Operation Sindoor diplomatic campaign post the Pahalgam terror attack.

The Indian delegation held substantive discussions with Deputy Foreign Minister Tasos Chatzivasileiou and members of Greece's Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Committee on Defence and Foreign Affairs.
These dialogues, officials said, focused on counter-terror strategy, intelligence sharing, and political solidarity against cross-border terrorism. The Indian delegation provided a comprehensive briefing on the brutal Pahalgam attack and explained India’s calibrated military response as a necessary, proportionate step to dismantle terror infrastructure, embassy sources added.
The delegation emphasised that terrorism must be condemned globally without equivocation, calling for stronger alignment between Athens and New Delhi on the matter. Citing India’s “New Normal” doctrine, the delegates stressed that there must be no distinction between terrorist perpetrators and those who shelter, support, or justify such actors.
Greek officials expressed strong solidarity with India’s position, condemning the Pahalgam incident and reaffirming their commitment to joint efforts in curbing extremist threats. The visit marks yet another stop in India's sweeping global outreach to build an international front against terrorism — a campaign that has seen high-level Indian delegations recently travel to France, Qatar, South Korea, and Guyana among others.
The Greece visit restated India’s diplomatic message: that the global fight against terrorism cannot afford moral ambiguity or selective silence. India’s message — clear and consistent — is gaining traction: acts of terror will be countered firmly, proportionately, and without delay.
