EAM Jaishankar Chairs European Envoys’ Conference in Berlin

India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar chaired a high-level regional conference of Indian Ambassadors stationed across Europe in Berlin today, underlining India’s evolving diplomatic priorities and its uncompromising stance on terrorism in the wake of Operation Sindoor.

The closed-door conference brought together Heads of Missions from key European capitals to assess regional dynamics and recalibrate India’s engagement strategy amid ongoing geopolitical shifts. The meeting is part of New Delhi’s wider outreach following the successful counter-terror operation in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, earlier this month.

“We discussed Operation Sindoor and conveyed India’s clear message of zero tolerance for terrorism,” Jaishankar said in a post following the session. The emphasis on anti-terror strategy forms a critical pillar of India’s foreign policy push, particularly as it seeks to build consensus with strategic partners in Europe.

The Minister and ambassadors also deliberated on ways to deepen engagement with European nations across sectors including trade, technology, climate cooperation, and strategic security. The conference comes at a time when the continent is navigating complex shifts in security and global supply chains, offering new opportunities for India-EU collaboration.

This diplomatic initiative aligns with India's broader efforts to reposition itself as a stable and reliable partner in an increasingly polarized international environment. The Berlin conference complements other ongoing high-level engagements, including simultaneous Indo-Pacific dialogues like Raisina Tokyo 2025, where Indian officials reaffirmed their commitment to counter-terrorism and multilateralism.
