In a post on X, Tusk said: “I received a report from the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces Branches regarding the downing of drones that intruded into our airspace and could have posed a threat. The operation is ongoing.”

Earlier, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces described the overnight drone incursions as “an act of aggression that posed a real threat to the safety of our citizens,” adding that several drones were neutralized and efforts were underway to locate crash sites.

"I informed the NATO Secretary General about the current situation and the actions we have taken regarding the objects that violated our airspace. We are in constant contact," he further wrote.

NATO and Polish aircraft remain active as radar systems continue to track possible additional objects.

This is a developing story.
