The command added that Polish forces remain “fully prepared for immediate response,” with NATO aircraft also deployed.
A Notice to Airmen posted on the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration website confirmed Warsaw’s closure, citing “unplanned military activity related to ensuring state security.”
According to Reuters, the Ukrainian Air Force initially reported via Telegram that Russian Shahed drones had crossed into Poland and were threatening the city of Zamość, 60 kilometers from the border, but later deleted the statement.

It remains unclear how many drones entered Polish territory. Ukrainian media reported that at least one was heading toward Rzeszów, home to a key logistics hub for Western military aid to Ukraine.
Poland has repeatedly scrambled aircraft during Russian strikes near its frontier but rarely closed airspace over its capital, making the move a significant escalation in precautionary measures.
IndianRepublic.in could not independently verify these reports, apart from the official communique.
This is a developing story.
