The disclosure comes as fighting expands across multiple fronts and international concern grows over the risk of a prolonged regional conflict.
The list of deployed assets includes B-2 stealth bombers, F-35 and F-22 stealth fighters, F-16 and F-18 combat aircraft, A-10 attack jets, electronic warfare planes, airborne command-and-control systems, reconnaissance aircraft and MQ-9 Reaper drones.
Missile defense platforms such as Patriot interceptor systems and THAAD anti-ballistic missile batteries have also been activated alongside counter-drone defenses. U.S. naval power has featured nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and guided-missile destroyers supported by refueling ships, cargo aircraft and aerial tanker fleets designed to sustain long-range operations.
Targets identified by the military include Iranian command-and-control centers, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps headquarters, aerospace and missile command facilities, integrated air-defense networks, ballistic missile launch sites, naval vessels, submarines and military communications infrastructure.
Some operational capabilities and strike details remain classified, and officials confirmed that nuclear installations were not among the publicly acknowledged targets.
As the Associated Press reported, the widening confrontation is producing ripple effects beyond Iran’s borders. Airstrikes in western Iraq killed four members of Kataib Hezbollah, an Iran-aligned militia that has claimed attacks on U.S. bases in solidarity with Tehran.
Meanwhile, Israeli authorities confirmed civilian casualties after missile attacks struck urban areas, including the death of a Filipino caregiver in Tel Aviv identified through forensic records.
Regional spillover has intensified security risks across neighboring countries. Jordanian officials said falling debris from intercepted Iranian projectiles injured five people, underscoring how missile exchanges are affecting states not directly involved in combat operations.
France announced it was reinforcing its military posture in the Middle East following drone activity near a naval facility, while U.S. officials confirmed continued diplomatic outreach with regional leaders as Washington monitors escalation risks.
In Tehran, witnesses reported explosions striking infrastructure linked to state broadcasting systems, causing temporary disruptions to television transmissions, while Israel said it had expanded strikes on government and military targets in the Iranian capital using large formations of fighter aircraft. The Israeli military also activated additional reservists as part of broader defensive preparations.
The United Arab Emirates meanwhile closed its embassy in Iran and withdrew diplomatic personnel after retaliatory strikes damaged infrastructure inside the Gulf state, reflecting growing concern among regional governments that the conflict is widening beyond initial military targets.
Iranian officials have maintained that their armed forces remain operational despite sustained bombardment, signaling that retaliatory capabilities remain intact even as military pressure mounts.
The disclosure of U.S. military assets shows the scale of the confrontation now unfolding across air, sea and cyber domains, suggesting a campaign designed to degrade Iran’s command structure and missile capacity while avoiding direct strikes on nuclear facilities.
