Saudi Arabia Condemns Iranian Drone Strike on U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Warns Iranian actions Will Push the Further Escalation
Saudi Arabia on Tuesday condemned what it described as a “flagrant Iranian attack” targeting the U.S. Embassy building in Riyadh, warning that repeated strikes on diplomatic premises violate international law and risk further regional escalation as the war expands across the Gulf.

The statement said the repetition of such attacks constitutes a violation of international norms and laws, specifically referencing the 1949 Geneva Convention and the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which grant immunity to diplomatic premises and personnel even during armed conflict.
The Kingdom also emphasized that despite its stated position that it would not allow its airspace or territory to be used to target Iran, continued Iranian actions would push the region toward further escalation.
It reaffirmed what it described as its full right to take necessary measures to protect its security, territorial integrity, citizens, residents and vital interests, including responding to aggression.
The strike on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh followed a similar incident a day earlier targeting the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait, which has since been closed until further notice. Washington has ordered the evacuation of non-emergency personnel and family members from multiple Gulf states as hostilities widen.
The embassy attack comes amid intensified air operations inside Iran by U.S. and Israeli forces and a broader Iranian retaliatory campaign that has increasingly targeted Gulf infrastructure, energy facilities and shipping corridors.
Saudi Arabia’s condemnation places renewed diplomatic focus on the protection of embassies and foreign missions as the conflict stretches across Iran, Israel, Lebanon and key Gulf states.
