Israel Says Hezbollah Cell Neutralised in South Lebanon as Border Fighting Continues
The Israeli military said it killed a Hezbollah militant cell and uncovered a cache of weapons during operations in southern Lebanon as tensions along the Israel–Lebanon border continue amid the wider West Asia conflict.
In a statement by the Israeli Defense Forces’ Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee on Sunday, the IDF said troops from the 769th Brigade of the 91st Division detected a Hezbollah militant cell operating in the area during the past week.

Israeli forces later detected another suspected militant in the same area and carried out a separate strike, the military said.
During subsequent searches in the area, Israeli troops reportedly discovered a stockpile of weapons that included explosive devices, light arms, ammunition and communication equipment.
The Israeli military accused Hezbollah of embedding fighters and weapons within civilian villages in southern Lebanon, saying such activity constitutes the exploitation of civilian infrastructure for military purposes.
“The presence of terrorist elements inside villages is further proof of Hezbollah’s cynical use of civilian infrastructure for terrorist purposes,” the Israeli statement said.
Israel said its forces would continue operating to strengthen what it described as its “forward defense line” along the northern border and prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding or expanding its military capabilities.
