India Activates Gulf Evacuation Network as 1,000 Stranded Indians Leave Doha Amid Iran War Airspace Disruptions
India has activated emergency evacuation and support mechanisms for its citizens stranded in the Gulf as the widening Iran war continues to disrupt aviation routes across the region, with nearly 1,000 Indians departing Doha over the past three days on Qatar Airways flights, according to the Embassy of India in Qatar.

The embassy said Qatar Airways had cooperated closely with Indian authorities, helping facilitate the departures of Indians who had been stranded in transit or on short-term visits as air routes across the Gulf face operational challenges.
Additional flights are being planned to help evacuate more travellers. According to the advisory, three Qatar Airways flights to Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi are scheduled for March 10, though passengers have been warned that flight operations could change suddenly due to the volatile security situation in the region.
Indian passengers were urged to remain in contact with airlines regarding travel plans, as the conflict has created unpredictable aviation conditions across Middle Eastern airspace.
Indian authorities are also using alternative evacuation routes through Saudi Arabia, with the embassy noting that several Indians have crossed the Salwa border into Saudi territory to catch flights back to India. The embassy said it has been assisting stranded passengers in obtaining Saudi visas where required and thanked both Qatari and Saudi authorities for facilitating the movement of travellers.
The embassy also confirmed it had assisted in one humanitarian repatriation case involving the mortal remains of an Indian national who died of natural causes, enabling the family to travel with the remains back to India. Officials said Indian community volunteers in Qatar had helped support the family during the process.
To assist Indians affected by the crisis, the embassy said it is operating three round-the-clock helplines, while community organisations such as the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) and the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) are helping coordinate assistance on the ground.
Indian nationals in Qatar have also been advised to strictly follow the safety guidelines issued by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior and avoid sharing sensitive images or information on social media related to the evolving security situation.
The advisory comes as the Iran war continues to ripple across the Gulf region, disrupting aviation routes, maritime traffic and regional mobility networks as governments move to protect their citizens and critical transport corridors.
