Trump Declares Ceasefire While Iran Fires Fresh Missiles, Denies Any Deal

U.S. President Donald Trump declared a "complete and total ceasefire" Monday in the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, but Tehran swiftly rejected any agreement, firing a fresh wave of missiles at Israeli targets.

Iranian state media IRIB confirmed the fourth salvo of missile strikes shortly after Trump’s announcement.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated there was no formal ceasefire, emphasizing that Iran was responding to Israeli aggression and would halt operations only if Israel ceased its attacks by 4 a.m. Tehran time.

He later confirmed that Iran’s military operations concluded at the deadline.

Despite Trump’s ceasefire claims, Israeli emergency services reported three fatalities from an Iranian missile strike in southern Israel—the first confirmed deaths on Israeli soil since the U.S. leader’s announcement.

Earlier, Iran had also targeted the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, retaliating for American airstrikes that hit Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Qatar condemned the attack, stating its air defenses intercepted most missiles.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance told Fox News that American strikes successfully buried Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile beneath destroyed nuclear sites, claiming it disrupted Iran’s enrichment efforts.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian defended Tehran’s position: “We neither initiated the war nor seek it. But we will not leave invasion to the great Iran without answer.”

The conflict remains fluid despite diplomatic overtures.

Trump publicly thanked Qatar’s Emir for efforts to prevent escalation while criticizing Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev for suggesting possible nuclear proliferation, an allegation Medvedev denied.
