“I could not hold back my tears. They sang from their heart and did it so beautifully,” President Murmu said while thanking the students and faculty for their warm wishes.

As part of her June 19–21 tour, the President visited NIEPVD to inaugurate the Presidential Niketan and participate in cultural and educational programmes aimed at promoting inclusion and empowerment.

She also launched infrastructure projects and released a book highlighting the biodiversity of the Presidential Niketan campus, underlining her commitment to sustainability and inclusive development.

Earlier in the day, warm birthday greetings poured in from leaders across party lines. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a social media post, praised her life of service: “Her unwavering commitment to public service, social justice, and inclusive development is a beacon of hope and strength. May she be blessed with a long and healthy life in service of the people.”

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and several others also extended their wishes, recognising President Murmu’s historic leadership as India’s first tribal woman to hold the nation’s highest office.
