“Received a phone call from PM @netanyahu of Israel. He briefed me on the evolving situation. I shared India's concerns and emphasized the need for early restoration of peace and stability in the region,” Modi said in a post on X.
The call came as Israel launched extensive airstrikes across Iran on Friday, targeting its nuclear enrichment facility at Natanz, ballistic missile arsenals, and killing key military figures, including Gen. Mohammad Bagheri, Gen. Hossein Salami, and Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, according to the Associated Press.
The Associated Press reported that these attacks dealt one of the most significant blows to Iran’s military leadership since the 1980s Iran-Iraq war.
The situation remains highly volatile as the international community closely monitors further developments.
