Iran’s Security Council: Armed Forces Will Stay on High Alert Despite Ceasefire
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has declared that the country’s armed forces will remain fully alert and prepared to respond to any further aggression, even after the recently brokered ceasefire with Israel.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the council credited the unity of the Iranian people, the resilience of the armed forces, and the leadership’s guidance for forcing Israel and its allies to halt their offensive after 12 days of intense conflict.
The SNSC emphasized that Iran’s prompt military responses had countered Israeli strikes and retaliated against U.S. forces at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
The council warned that despite the truce, Iran holds no trust in the pledges of its adversaries and its armed forces stand ready to deliver "decisive and regret-inducing" retaliation if provoked again.
The ceasefire, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, followed days of escalating hostilities that began with Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites on June 13.
While both sides have accused each other of violating the ceasefire terms, the truce remains officially in place, albeit fragile.
Regional powers such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia have called for full adherence to the ceasefire, while India has continued its large-scale evacuations under Operation Sindhu, repatriating over 2,500 nationals from the conflict zones in Iran and Israel.
