The men — identified as Edris Aali, Azad Shojaei, and Rasoul Ahmad — were accused of smuggling equipment into Iran to carry out targeted assassinations against Iranian officials.
According to Iranian authorities, the individuals were arrested, tried, and sentenced following full legal proceedings. The executions were carried out in the northwestern city of Urmia.
This latest round of executions follows a series of arrests and trials targeting individuals Tehran claims were part of Mossad-directed operations inside Iran, particularly following the June 13 Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites that triggered a cycle of military escalation between Israel, Iran, and the United States.
Earlier this month, Iran also executed Mohammad-Amin Mahdavi Shayesteh and Majid Mosayebi, both convicted of collaborating with Mossad and attempting to leak sensitive information related to Iran’s security and nuclear programs.
Iranian judiciary officials have vowed to accelerate prosecutions of those accused of espionage, calling them collaborators with hostile foreign powers.
Iran’s judiciary chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei previously described the Mossad-linked spy networks as acting as a "fifth column" in support of what Tehran calls the “usurping Zionist regime.”
The executions come as regional tensions remain high despite the fragile ceasefire brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, following 12 days of violent exchanges between Israel and Iran.
The ceasefire remains under strain as both sides have accused each other of violations.
