The visit, which took place amid ongoing post-Operation Sindoor readiness measures, focused on joint operational coordination between the Indian Air Force and other branches of the armed forces. Discussions centred on the status of synergised air operations, operational integration, and command-level assessments.
During the visit, General Chauhan interacted with officers and personnel of the Western Air Command. He commended the unit’s role in Operation Sindoor, specifically highlighting the Indian Air Force’s contribution to integrated missions during the cross-border counter-terror strikes.
The Chief of Defence Staff reaffirmed the armed forces’ commitment to jointness and operational synergy, both key components of India’s military restructuring. Western Air Command holds strategic importance due to its jurisdiction over India’s western and northern air sectors.
The visit forms part of routine high-level operational reviews conducted by the Department of Military Affairs and the Chief of Defence Staff’s office to assess preparedness and inter-service collaboration across commands.
