Indian Coast Guard Rescues Two U.S. Nationals from Stranded Yacht off Andaman Coast
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully rescued two U.S. crew members aboard a disabled sailing vessel, Sea Angel , stranded approximately 52 nautical miles southeast of Indira Point in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on July 10, 2025. Following a distress alert, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Port Blair immediately activated rescue protocols, alerting nearby merchant ships and deploying ICG ship Rajveer to the scene. Rajveer established contact with the crew, conducted an on-site assessment, and confirmed both individuals were in good health despite challenging conditions.
