The visit follows INS Sudarshini’s arrival at Casablanca on April 15, marking a key milestone in its deployment and reflecting India’s continued push to expand maritime engagement under the MAHASAGAR vision — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across the Region.
Senior-level interactions were also held during the visit, including calls by the ship’s Commanding Officer on Moroccan Navy officials, where discussions focused on enhancing maritime collaboration and training exchanges.
The three-day engagement includes professional, cultural and diplomatic interactions designed to strengthen bilateral naval ties and goodwill.
The deployment builds on a series of recent naval exchanges between India and Morocco, with multiple Indian naval ships having visited Casablanca over the past year, contributing to improved interoperability and sustained engagement.
INS Sudarshini, which earlier participated in the Escale à Sète maritime festival in France and undertook port calls across Oman, Egypt and Malta, continues its voyage across key international maritime corridors as part of Lokayan-26, positioning itself as a platform for maritime diplomacy and global outreach.
The Indian Navy said such engagements aim to shape future naval leaders while reinforcing India’s commitment to global maritime cooperation, cultural diplomacy and the broader principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
