Incident at Heathrow Terminal 3: One Arrested, Multiple Injured After Pepper Spray Attack

Armed police responded to a violent altercation in the multi-storey car park at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 3 early Sunday morning. One man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a group sprayed what is believed to be pepper spray, injuring several individuals.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the incident occurred around 08:11 GMT and involved people "known to each other," with an argument escalating into physical violence. 

Victims were treated at the scene and taken to hospital; their injuries are not considered life-threatening or life-changing.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident is not related to terrorism or protest activity. Armed response units, London Fire Brigade, and ambulance services remain deployed. 

An increased police presence will continue at Heathrow through the day.

The Terminal 3 car park area has been cordoned off, with passengers and transport staff instructed to remain in vehicles. Footage from the scene shows armed officers searching the premises.

Transport services have been heavily disrupted. National Rail confirmed Elizabeth Line delays and cancellations, while traffic on the M4 and Heathrow tunnels were temporarily suspended. 

Heathrow Airport has advised passengers to allow extra travel time and check with airlines for updates.

Investigations are ongoing, with police working to trace additional suspects involved in the incident.
