Emergency services responded swiftly to reports of a mass stabbing on board a train bound for Huntingdon. The incident occurred on the East Coast Main Line, a critical route connecting London King’s Cross to Edinburgh, and caused major disruption across the national network.

“We are currently responding to an incident on a train to Huntingdon where multiple people have been stabbed. Officers are in attendance alongside @CambsCops and two people have been arrested,” BTP said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

Station Closed, Network Paralyzed

Huntingdon railway station was immediately shut down as police cordoned off the area. London North Eastern Railway (LNER), which operates services on the affected route, issued an urgent warning advising passengers not to travel.

“We are experiencing major disruption across the LNER route. Emergency services are dealing with an incident at Huntingdon station; all lines are blocked,” the operator said. “Our advice is: Do Not Travel.”

LNER confirmed that the incident involved one of its trains. “Our immediate concern is for the welfare of our customers and crew. We are gathering all details and liaising closely with British Transport Police.”

Victims Hospitalised, Motive Unclear

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that multiple individuals have been taken to hospital with injuries.
