Huntingdon railway station was immediately shut down as police cordoned off the area. London North Eastern Railway (LNER), which operates services on the affected route, issued an urgent warning advising passengers not to travel.

“We are experiencing major disruption across the LNER route. Emergency services are dealing with an incident at Huntingdon station; all lines are blocked,” the operator said. “Our advice is: Do Not Travel.”
