During United States President Donald Trump’s second state visit to the UK, London and Washington inked a transformative £31 billion “Tech Prosperity Deal” to tighten cooperation in AI, quantum computing, and civil nuclear energy.

Microsoft pledged £22 billion—its largest UK investment ever—aimed at expanding cloud and AI infrastructure and building Britain’s biggest supercomputer in partnership with Nscale. 

Nvidia will deploy 120,000 GPUs across the UK, marking its largest such rollout in Europe. 

Google committed £5 billion for a new data center and expanded AI research through DeepMind. 

The UK government described the deal as a "generational step change" in its relationship with the U.S., saying it will create thousands of skilled jobs, enhance growth, and increase Britain’s standing as a global technology power.

While much of the publicity tonight focuses on the state banquet in Windsor, the substantive shift comes through this tech deal--placing AI sovereignty and infrastructure investment at the heart of UK‑US strategy amid global tech competition.
