Prime Minister Modi had echoed similar sentiment in an earlier post, describing the conversation as “very good” and highlighting progress in bilateral cooperation and shared views on global issues.
“We exchanged views on international and regional issues, including efforts for bringing an early end to the conflict in Ukraine,” Modi posted.

The call comes amid heightened international diplomacy around Ukraine, including a proposed multilateral security framework and continued discussion of troop deployments or peacekeeping measures following a potential ceasefire.
India, which has maintained a neutral stance on the conflict, has previously supported diplomatic resolution efforts and emphasized the importance of dialogue.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a warning that any foreign military personnel deployed to Ukraine -- even in the context of a post-ceasefire mission -- would be treated as “legitimate targets for defeat,” escalating tensions as international partners push forward with plans for postwar security guarantees for Kyiv.
