During the discussions, Modi recalled their previous exchange in Kazan, which he described as “very fruitful” and having given positive momentum to India–China relations.

Stressing the importance of peace and stability along the shared frontier after disengagement, he said effective border management by the special representatives is essential for the overall relationship and that the two sides are in agreement.

He noted that the two sides had advanced their cooperation with a border management agreement, the reopening of the Kailash Mansarovar route, and the resumption of direct flights between the two countries.

The Prime Minister underscored that the welfare of 2.8 billion people combined is closely tied to the state of India–China ties.

“This (our relationship) can pave the way for the welfare of humanity as a whole,” he said, adding that both nations have a responsibility to strengthen stability in Asia and beyond.

Modi stated India’s commitment to advancing bilateral ties on the basis of vishwas, samaan, aur samvedanshilta — trust, mutual respect, and sensitivity.

Thanking President Xi once again for the invitation and the opportunity to meet, Modi said India looks forward to working closely with China to deepen cooperation across areas of mutual interest and to ensure that bilateral ties contribute to broader global peace and prosperity.
