Trump Says Illegal Payments by Democrats to Beyoncé, Oprah for Endorsements; Wants Prosecution
U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on his political rivals, alleging serious campaign finance violations by the Democratic Party, including illegal payments for celebrity endorsements.
The claims, made Saturday night on his platform Truth Social, have reignited controversy around the legality of political endorsements and payments during election campaigns.

“I’m looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats, after the Presidential Election,”
Trump wrote, before accusing the party of disbursing millions of dollars to high-profile figures like Beyoncé and Oprah Winfrey.
“They admit to paying, probably illegally, Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT,” he claimed, asserting that the pop icon “never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!”
He further alleged that Oprah Winfrey received “Three Million Dollars for ‘expenses,’” and television personality Al Sharpton was paid “Six Hundred Thousand Dollars” despite being a “very low rated TV ‘anchor,’” who he dismissed as “a total lightweight!”
“These ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records,” Trump charged, arguing that paying for endorsements is illegal under U.S. campaign finance laws.
“YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO,” he wrote in capital letters for emphasis.
While the Democratic National Committee has yet to publicly respond to Trump’s accusations, no evidence has been released to substantiate the allegations.
Campaign finance law experts have pointed out that while celebrity support is often sought, payments--if made explicitly in exchange for endorsements--would raise serious legal and ethical concerns.
However, such claims would require rigorous proof, including contractual agreements or coordinated intent, to hold up under legal scrutiny.
Trump went further by suggesting Vice President Kamala Harris and others “who received Endorsement money” had “BROKEN THE LAW” and “should all be prosecuted.”
The post adds fuel to the already incendiary U.S. election climate, with Trump continuing to position himself as a political outsider taking on what he calls “the rigged system.”
His claims come amid ongoing investigations and legal battles related to his own finances and campaign activities.
As of now, no formal complaints or investigations have been confirmed in connection with Trump’s allegations.
