TRENDING: Rahul Gandhi Marks One Year as LoP, Says Focus Has Been on Voice of the People
In a trending video message released to mark one year as Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said his role has been shaped by “the voice of India’s people,” and guided by constitutional values, justice, and truth.

He cited issues raised during the past year: the crisis in Manipur, the struggles of Anganwadi workers, rising inequality, unemployment, and farmers’ distress. Gandhi said his political work—inside Parliament and outside—was an attempt to highlight these ground realities and resist what he described as the centralisation of power in the hands of a few.
Gandhi also reflected on his visits to various states and engagement with marginalised communities, saying that his job as LoP was to “amplify what people are saying on the ground” and “speak fearlessly.”
Describing the Opposition as a “voice of reason and resistance,” Gandhi pledged to continue holding the government accountable on issues like caste census, institutional integrity, and public welfare.
The message concluded with a call to citizens: “We are standing for the India of the Constitution… this fight is not mine alone—it is all of ours.”
