Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone conversation to discuss developments in Iran, Ukraine, and the broader Middle East, according to the Kremlin.

The hour-long call, confirmed by Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian President, according to Iranian media sources, focused on diplomatic efforts to resolve regional conflicts.
Both leaders reviewed the status of the ceasefire process in Ukraine and reaffirmed support for continued dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv. The U.S. provision of arms to Ukraine was not addressed during the conversation.
Putin reiterated Russia’s position on the Ukraine conflict and conveyed readiness to engage in further negotiations. The discussion also covered the situation in Syria, with both sides agreeing to continue bilateral consultations.
The call concluded with Putin extending Independence Day greetings to Trump. The Kremlin indicated that a future in-person meeting could be arranged if needed, with both sides expected to remain in contact.
