California Governor Newsom Blasts Trump After Tear Gas Raid on Farm Sparks Chaos, Injuries

California Governor Gavin Newsom sharply criticized US President Donald Trump following a federal raid on a licensed cannabis farm that left chaos, injured civilians, and tear gas in its wake.

The operation, conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), targeted Glass House Farms in Southern California, a facility operating legally under state cannabis laws.

Video footage showed tear gas canisters deployed and children fleeing the area during the raid, which escalated into clashes between federal agents and protesters.

Emergency responders confirmed multiple injuries, with at least three individuals transported to local hospitals.

The Department of Homeland Security acknowledged federal involvement but has yet to disclose the specific justification for targeting a legally licensed operation.

Military-style vehicles, helicopters, and armed personnel were used to seal off the area, underscoring the scale and intensity of the enforcement action.

The incident is part of a broader immigration crackdown across Southern California, where federal agents have intensified operations in recent weeks, often supported by National Guard deployments.

Locations such as farms, warehouses, and parking lots have increasingly become focal points, heightening fear among immigrant workers and their families.

With federal and state tensions deepening, the raid has sparked political fallout and renewed scrutiny over the use of force, legality of operations, and the impact on California's immigrant and agricultural communities.
