United States House Passes Trump’s Key Economic Package Ahead of July 4
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed President Donald Trump’s comprehensive economic and policy bill, advancing a central element of his second-term agenda. The bill, dubbed the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” by the administration, was approved in a narrow 218–214 vote early Thursday morning and is now headed to the White House for the president’s signature.

The legislation includes the extension of the 2017 tax cuts, creation of new deductions for workers and seniors, and significant allocations toward national security and immigration enforcement. It also introduces new work requirements for Medicaid and food assistance programs and repeals several green energy tax incentives.
The bill’s passage came after overnight negotiations that secured support from a group of Republican holdouts. Two GOP members voted against the package.
.@POTUS: "I think when you go over the bill, it was very easy to get them to a 'Yes.' ... Biggest tax cut in history, great for security, great on the southern border ... we covered just about everything. Again, it's the biggest bill ever signed of its kind." pic.twitter.com/0nfeQ5IDuo

The vote followed a marathon floor speech by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who used a procedural mechanism to speak at length in opposition to the bill, citing concerns over the proposed Medicaid cuts.
The White House confirmed that President Trump will sign the bill into law during a public ceremony scheduled for 5 PM on July 4.
