SAFELY-LANDED: Dalai Lama Arrives in Ladakh for Extended Stay Amid Monsoon Shift

The 14th Dalai Lama arrived safely in Ladakh on Saturday morning, greeted by crowds of monks, devotees, and well-wishers lining the streets of Leh. 

The visit marks the start of his annual retreat to the high-altitude region, where the spiritual leader traditionally resides during Dharamshala’s monsoon season, according to tibet.net.

Before dawn, hundreds of Tibetans gathered in Dharamshala to offer prayers and catch a glimpse of the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. 

In Ladakh, he is likely to stay at the Shiwa Tsel Phodrang monastery in Leh, where a series of teachings and public audiences are expected over the coming weeks.

The visit underscores the Dalai Lama’s enduring presence in India’s Himalayan north, where he continues to draw both spiritual seekers and global attention amid growing challenges for Tibetans in exile.
