NEWSALERT: China Signals Opposition to U.S.-Vietnam Trade Deal

China has expressed opposition to the recent trade agreement between the United States and Vietnam, stating it is assessing the development.

The Ministry of Commerce said Thursday that China opposes any trade arrangements that harm its interests and reiterated its stance against the U.S. practice of imposing unilateral tariffs.

While supporting other countries' efforts to resolve trade issues with the U.S. through equal consultation, China stated it will act to protect its interests if any deal undermines them, Chinese newspapers reported.
