Trump Approves 2,000 More Guard Troops for LA, Total Deployment Tops 4,100

The new deployment raises the total number of National Guard members under federal orders for the LA protests to more than 4,100. The announcement comes just hours after approximately 700 Marines were also sent to assist in the federal response.
The surge in troop presence marks one of the largest domestic deployments in decades and underscores the administration’s aggressive stance against growing unrest over immigration raids and mass arrests across Southern California.
