Kremlin Says No Putin-Trump Visits Planned Yet But Direct Talks Ongoing

Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have no immediate plans for reciprocal visits, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov told TASS on Sunday.

"Not yet," Ushakov said when asked about potential visits. He added that discussions on a possible meeting in a third country have not progressed. "That’s still unclear. It will depend on what the sides agree upon. But so far, no one is even discussing anything in this regard," he stated.

Since Trump’s inauguration earlier this year, the two leaders have held five phone conversations. Both sides have agreed to maintain direct contact, including eventual in-person meetings.

However, according to the Kremlin, a summit would only be meaningful once "the results previously achieved through high-level efforts" are formalized. Until then, Moscow considers it premature to advance talks on scheduling such a meeting.
