Indian Minister to Attend Mozambique’s 50th Independence Day, Hold Bilateral Talks in Africa
Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest & Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh will embark on an official visit to Mozambique and Zimbabwe from June 21 to 28, 2025. The visit comes as part of India’s efforts to strengthen bilateral ties with the two African nations.

In Mozambique, Singh will represent India at the country’s 50th Independence Day celebrations on June 25, coinciding with 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Mozambique.
During his visit, Singh is scheduled to call on President Daniel Francisco Chapo and hold bilateral discussions with Foreign Minister Verónica Macamo to explore avenues for expanded cooperation.
Singh will also interact with members of the Indian diaspora in Maputo, where approximately 25,000 people of Indian origin reside.
Following Mozambique, the Minister will travel to Zimbabwe for a series of high-level meetings with the country’s leadership, ministers, and senior government officials.
His visit will also include discussions on environmental and conservation issues during his trip to the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) near Victoria Falls, focusing on wildlife protection, climate change, and sustainable development.
In Zimbabwe, Singh will meet with the Indian diaspora community, continuing India’s engagement with its global citizenry.
The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and environmental sectors.
