INS Teg, currently deployed to the South West Indian Ocean Region, is visiting Port Louis, Mauritius from June 19 to 22, 2025, as part of its operational deployment.
During its stay, the Indian Navy’s stealth frigate is conducting joint surveillance of the Mauritian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) alongside Mauritius National Coast Guard (NCG) ships and aircraft.

The mission underscores India’s commitment to safeguarding the global maritime commons and countering Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing, while reinforcing cooperative maritime security efforts in the region.
The port visit also includes a broad range of professional engagements and cultural activities. On June 19, the ship’s commanding officer called on key Mauritian officials, including the Commissioner of Police, Secretary to Cabinet, and COMCG, reiterating India’s resolve to strengthen bilateral maritime ties.
NCG personnel will undergo onboard training in firefighting, damage control, and seamanship, while INS Teg’s crew will familiarise themselves with NCG facilities. Friendly sports fixtures and community service activities are also scheduled.
In a gesture reflecting India’s cultural diplomacy, INS Teg will mark International Day of Yoga 2025 with a joint yoga session on June 21, bringing together Indian Navy personnel, NCG officers, and members of the Indian diaspora.
Commissioned in 2012, INS Teg is part of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet. The ongoing deployment and engagement in Mauritius further strengthen the deep-rooted maritime partnership between India and Mauritius, enhancing regional security and cooperation.
