Indian Parliamentary Delegation Rallies Bipartisan U.S. Congressional Support Against Terrorism
In a powerful show of bipartisan unity, U.S. lawmakers across party lines have stated their strong support for India’s stance against terrorism during a series of high-level meetings with the Indian all-party parliamentary delegation led by Dr. Shashi Tharoor in Washington, D.C.
Meeting with the co-chairs of the India Caucus in the House of Representatives, Ro Khanna (Democrat) and Rich McCormick (Republican), along with vice co-chairs Andy Barr and Marc Veasey, the Indian delegation briefed lawmakers on the threat posed by cross-border terrorism and India’s response under Operation Sindoor. The U.S. Congressmen condemned the Pahalgam terror attack unequivocally and expressed bipartisan support for India’s right to respond to terrorism with zero tolerance.

The delegation also held a comprehensive exchange with the leadership of the House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC), including Chair Brian Mast, Ranking Member Gregory Meeks, and Subcommittee leaders on South and Central Asia, East Asia, and the Pacific.
Congressman Rich McCormick emphasized that the U.S.-India relationship is evolving into a deeper strategic alliance, with both nations playing a critical role in shaping global stability. Congressman Ro Khanna stated that the United States remains firmly committed—across party lines—to its partnership with India, particularly in efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating from across the border.
The discussions focused on India's counter-terror strategy and the implications of Operation Sindoor as a strategic inflection point.
