An all-party parliamentary delegation has concluded a day of high-level engagements in London aimed at galvanizing international support against cross-border terrorism. From government officials to party leaders, think tanks, and diaspora groups, the delegation found consistent backing for India’s counter-terrorism efforts and its call for a rules-based global security order.

The visit comes at a critical time, as India seeks to internationalize its security concerns following the Pahalgam terror attack and present a unified, bipartisan front on the global stage. The delegation positioned Operation Sindoor as a turning point in India’s counter-terror strategy, placing terrorism as a central threat to global peace and economic stability.

The day opened with an interaction between the Indian delegation and UK-based think tanks, focused on the strategic recalibration embodied in Operation Sindoor. Discussions highlighted the growing consensus on the need to combat terrorism as a global, not regional, issue.

Key political engagements included a meeting with Catherine West MP, UK Minister for the Indo-Pacific, who reaffirmed the UK’s strong condemnation of terror attacks in India and pledged support for efforts to hold perpetrators accountable through international frameworks.

At Conservative Campaign Headquarters, the delegation held talks with Lord Dominic Johnson and Koolesh Shah, Co-Chairs of the Conservative Party and Conservative Friends of India. Both emphasized the global implications of India's counter-terror campaign and acknowledged the role of the Indian diaspora as a bridge between the two democracies.

Engagements with Labour Party India friendship groups, including Labour Friends of India and affiliated cultural networks, underscored a cross-party consensus in the UK on supporting India's counter-terror narrative. These groups stressed the urgency of dismantling global terror infrastructure and disrupting financial networks that sustain extremism.

In a focused exchange with Seema Malhotra MP, UK Minister for Migration, Citizenship, and Equalities, the delegation briefed her on India’s evolving strategy under Operation Sindoor, particularly in addressing radicalisation and cross-border threats through coordinated legal and diplomatic frameworks.

The day concluded with a dinner meeting with prominent UK thought leaders, where discussions centred on the long-term social impact of terrorism and the rise of global radicalisation. The interaction underscored the broader international relevance of India’s counter-terror doctrine, especially as democracies confront shared security challenges.

India’s outreach, led by a multi-party delegation, reaffirmed its stance that the fight against terrorism requires global solidarity, robust legal cooperation, and sustained strategic dialogue with key international partners like the United Kingdom.
