Call It What It Is: A State of Denial, A State of Terror: India Exposes Pakistan’s Long Game

“This isn’t the first time. And sadly, it won’t be the last. But the world must stop pretending Pakistan doesn’t know what it’s doing,” said MP Tejasvi Surya at the National Press Club, as India’s delegation accused Islamabad of decades-long terror complicity.

In a scathing indictment, the MPs outlined a historical pattern of attacks, denials, and impunity—from the 1947 invasion of Kashmir to the 1999 Kargil War, to the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and now Pahalgam 2025.

“When Pakistani soldiers died in Kargil, their own government refused to claim the bodies. What more evidence do you need of a system that hides behind lies?” Surya said.

The delegation pointed to fresh evidence from Pahalgam:

  • The TRF (The Resistance Front) claimed responsibility online within minutes of the attack

  • The post was taken down under ISI pressure

  • Funeral photos of slain terrorists showed uniformed Pakistani military men in attendance

“We’ve given the world names, coordinates, satellite images, even intercepted calls,” said Milind Deora. “Yet every time, Pakistan’s playbook is the same—deny, distract, delay.”

Dr. Shashi Tharoor recounted how even the UN Security Council press statement condemning the Pahalgam attack was watered down due to Pakistan-China pressure.

“They blocked the mention of TRF, just like they blocked Jaish-e-Mohammed designations. It’s a pattern of shielding the perpetrators,” Tharoor noted.

The Indian delegation called for global clarity, not just sympathy.

“Pakistan is not a victim of terror. It’s the ecosystem,” said Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
“If you still need proof, you’re not looking.”

India stopped short of demanding Pakistan be labeled a terrorist state, but the insinuation was crystal clear: the state’s denials are deliberate, its institutions compromised, and its intentions destructive.

“Let’s stop treating this like a misunderstanding,” said Tharoor. “This is calculated. This is structural. And if the world doesn’t respond, it will only escalate.”

As India’s campaign continues globally, this may be its most important ask: Stop enabling Pakistan’s denial—and start confronting its design.
