Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest & Climate Change Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh will visit Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic from May 29 to June 06, 2025. The visit is aimed at deepening India’s engagement in Central Asia.
In Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, MoS will lead the Indian delegation to the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers' Preservation from 29 May to 01 June. He will also hold bilateral discussions with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan and meet the Indian community based in the country.
Following that, MoS will travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, to engage with Kyrgyz leaders including the Foreign Minister. He will also interact with members of the Indian diaspora residing there.
A key component of this trip includes participation in the IX Meeting of the Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection Programme (GSLEP) Steering Committee, scheduled for 5–6 June in Issyk-Kul. This underscores India’s growing leadership in climate and biodiversity cooperation.
India maintains a strong strategic partnership with both Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic — spanning security, environmental policy, and regional cooperation. The upcoming visit is expected to further solidify these multidimensional relationships.
