During their visit to Riyadh from May 27–29, the delegation engaged with top Saudi research and security institutions as well as the Indian diaspora. Their mission formed a vital component of India’s post-Pahalgam diplomatic campaign, which includes coordinated visits by MPs to 33 global capitals to articulate India's position and seek alignment with international partners on combating terrorism.

In Riyadh, the delegation held detailed discussions with H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Sager, Chairman of the Gulf Research Centre—Saudi Arabia’s leading think tank. The Indian MPs emphasized India’s national consensus on combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, highlighting the country’s enduring struggle with cross-border terror for over three decades. Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam massacre that claimed 26 lives, was described as a defining moment in India’s evolving counter-terror strategy.

The delegation also visited Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), a premier regional institution in security studies. In talks with its President, Dr. Abdulmajeed Albanyan, the Indian side expressed appreciation for the existing collaboration between Indian and Saudi security institutions. The two sides discussed emerging domains like artificial intelligence and quantum technologies in the context of counter-terror operations and explored further institutional linkages.

In a separate interaction with the Indian community in Riyadh, delegation members reaffirmed the government’s firm resolve to combat radicalism and terrorism. They condemned the Pahalgam attack as an attempt to destabilize peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir and to incite communal unrest across India. “It is a testament to India’s unity and resilience that such provocations have been overwhelmingly rejected by the people,” a delegation member noted.

The MPs praised the contributions of the Indian diaspora and acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s consistent support in condemning terrorism. The visit reflects the growing strategic trust between India and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the domains of security, technology, and global peace-building.

This Saudi visit is part of a broader multi-pronged initiative by the Indian government to engage international opinion makers and align global narratives in support of India’s counter-terrorism efforts, including similar delegations recently deployed to Latvia, Colombia, Panama, and Guyana.
