PM Modi to Launch ₹26,000 Crore Development Push During Rajasthan Visit on May 22

Bikaner, May 20 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan on May 22, where he is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects exceeding ₹26,000 crore, with a focus on infrastructure, clean energy, rail and road connectivity, and public services.

The visit begins at Deshnoke in Bikaner district, where the Prime Minister will offer prayers at the Karni Mata Temple at 11:00 AM, before inaugurating the redeveloped Deshnoke Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and flagging off the Bikaner–Mumbai Express.

The central peg of the visit is the launch of 103 redeveloped railway stations across 18 States and Union Territories, completed at a cost of ₹1,100 crore. The stations integrate modern amenities with regional architecture, including Deshnoke’s temple-themed design, Telangana’s Kakatiya-inspired Begumpet station, Bihar’s Madhubani-styled Thawe, and Gujarat’s Dakor station influenced by Ranchhodrai Ji Maharaj.

The Prime Minister will later travel to Palana, where he will address a public gathering and unveil a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure and welfare delivery in the state.

Among the major announcements:

  • Rail Electrification: PM Modi will dedicate six newly electrified railway sections, including Suratgarh–Phalodi (336 km) and Udaipur–Himmatnagar (210 km). He will also lay the foundation for the Churu–Sadulpur (58 km) rail line.

  • Road Connectivity: Foundation stones will be laid for three vehicle underpasses and 12 upgraded State Highways (750 km). Additionally, seven road projects worth ₹4,850 crore will be inaugurated, improving access to the Indo-Pak border.

  • Energy Projects: The Prime Minister will launch solar power initiatives in Bikaner and Nawa, along with transmission systems at Sirohi, Mewar, and Neemuch, aimed at enhancing clean energy capacity and reducing emissions.

  • Healthcare and Education: Inauguration of nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur will mark an expansion in health infrastructure.

  • Water Infrastructure: Foundation stones will be laid for the Jhunjhunu Rural Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project and water supply schemes in seven towns of Pali district under AMRUT 2.0.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate 25 state-level projects, including power and connectivity works, as part of the wider development agenda.

The visit underscores the government's strategy of infrastructure-led growth and its political focus on Rajasthan ahead of the upcoming electoral calendar.
